The alpine shelter “Wolayerseehütte” lies in the heart of the Carnic Alps, surrounded by impressive peaks as “Hohewarte”, “Seewarte” and the massive “Seekopf”. It is situated on the beautiful lake Wolayersee (1,960 m).

The Wolayersee Hut is an important base of the Carnic ridge road and a popular excursion destination. The refuge is well suited place for climbing trainings at all levels of difficulty. There are two climbing areas with 70  climbing routes furnished with bolts going from the 4th up to the 8th level of difficulty. Two via ferratas lead to the Hohewarte. Around the lake you will find a lot of interesting spots on the Geo-Trail.  We recommended  the informative climbing guide “Klettern in den Karnischen Alpen” (climbing in the Carnic Alps).

In the surroundings of the Wolayerseehütte there are several possibilities for mountaineers starting with leisurely walks and going up all the way to challenging alpine climbs. The hosts have just the right tip for you.
